Holbrook Canyon Hike

We decided to go hiking up Holbrook Canyon in Bountiful a couple of weeks ago. It was a lot of fun! We took a lunch and ate it when we were ready to turn around. Here are some pictures from our hike.

This is before we left, all fresh-faced and ready to go:

This is what the river looked like. We had to cross it several times, and it was really high from all the runoff. This is the end of the unsubmerged trail. We couldn't tell where it went from here, because there was only a raging river of death at the end of the trail we were on. We thought it best to turn back at this point.
This is Chris's action shot. Notice the look on his face.
This is one of the few bridges there were to cross. The rest of the time we had to wade through. Well, Chris did. I got to get a ride on his back. :)
This is in the middle of the hike. The trail went up out of the trees for a bit then dropped back down.

This is one of the animals we saw on our hike. It's a dead moose, we think. Also on our list of spotted wildlife are two garter snakes and one big stripey snake that scared the pants off us.
This is Chris's dead moose face. Ha.
This is the end of the trail. We thought maybe we could hike up the mountain and go around, but there wasn't much up there.

Ahh Summer

We love summer. It is a great time of the year. Lately, we have been going on walks at night around the area. It's amazing the stuff you don't notice until you take a walk past it. It gives us a chance to talk about what we want to do in the future and look at houses to decide different features we like and dislike. We highly recommend walking.

Aggie Pancakes

Last week we decided to have a mini celebration and make some Aggie Blue Pancakes! Basically, we made pancakes from the Bisquick box and added some food coloring. But it was fun! We also took some pictures along the way.

Graduation!

The light at the end of the tunnel is getting brighter and brighter. Graduation! I (Audrey; by now you have probably figured out that I am the only one who writes on this) will be graduating with a Bachelor's degree from Utah State University on May 2, 2008 in Interdisciplinary Studies of Interior and Business Design. I think we need to have a party.

Weird Church Occurences

We thought we, meaning Audrey, ought to post a couple of weird things that happened to us at church last Sunday. As we were sitting down in combined Priesthood/RS and Sunday School, the bishop came up to us and told me to keep on doing my calling regardless of the weird stuff that was going on with the scouts. That is all well and good, except we have no idea what he is talking about. So we said, "Um? Okay. . ." and he walked away. The best part of Sunday School was when Chris decided to stretch his back by twisting from the waist up. As he turned to me, I thought he was going to say something to me, so I turned toward him. Well. Let's just say that Chris was wearing his suspenders to church, and the twisting caused one of them to come loose. This loose suspender proceeded to strike me squarely in the eye. Yowch. That's about it for us.
